The line separating the carnal from the spiritual world clearly has its weakest parts and the almost impossible to penetrate. And those who can access it have their tasks to perform. And through mediums, as Allan Kardec in the Book of Mediums, the inhabitants of the spiritual plane manage to manifest themselves. The writer also states that we are all mediums, but only those who possess an afflicted mediumship are able to communicate ostensibly with spirits. Some spirits who communicate, dwell among us. This is due in large part to their excessive attachment to matter. Others because of tasks to be performed here, for the progress (or not) of mankind.
To the spirits who are here, the desire to communicate with us, whether in a friendly or terrifying manner, often becomes uncontrollable. Today we will speak specifically about a subject within the study of spiritism called obsession. According to spiritism, there are two basic types of events related to the action of obsessive spirits: the houting (haunting), which is characterized by the disincarnated creature who takes advantage of the ectoplasm (a vaporous substance originating from the exteriorization of spiritual energy) accumulated in random places to manifest itself; and the poltergeist (noisy spirit), an entity which uses the energy provided by an incarnated (living) individual to act.
Houting, in general terms, would be materialistic spirits who would be attached to a certain place, could be identified by sounds arising out of nowhere, objects moving without apparent cause, and even the appearance of human or monstrous figures fit into their most recurrent manifestations. The poltergeist, on the other hand, would cause more devastating effects for mortals, such as aggressions and attacks without apparent cause. And these attitudes would be rooted in the spirit's obsession with someone or something.
Second, Julis Oraccio Felipe, lawyer, spiritist, and researcher of the manifestations within spiritism, so that a spirit may communicate, or be perceived, there is always a need for a medium.
Even in direct communications, the spirit withdraws from a near medium the possibility of communication, extracting what is called ectoplasm, a fluid, in order to attain his intention; but he does so only if there is permission to do so, and such permission always has a purpose. In such cases, spirits who are still very attached to the things of matter, and who are little morally developed, seek to access others in order to disturb them in their day to day life. Sometimes out of vengeance, sometimes out of envy, at last, less noble feelings, causing some wear and tear.
According to Allan Kardec, in documents made available by the Brazilian Spiritist Federation, obsession is characterized by "[...] domination which some spirits exercise over certain people. It is practiced only by inferior spirits, who seek to dominate [...]". And, in turn, it is related to three basic factors that make it easier for the spirit to dominate it: moral lack or social behavior, such as addictions; serious mental/psychic disharmony, that is, mental disorders and physical injuries related to reasoning, cognition, emotion, etc.
Obsession is considered a primary factor when the person suffers direct action from a spiritual stalker. In the case of mediumistic practice, Kardec presents some more evident signs of the obsessive process, applied both to the medium who works with psychophony (when the spirit communicates with the voice of the medium), psychography (writing of texts dictated by spirits), clairvoyance (mediumistic possibility of seeing spirits), and so on. Or as in any other mediumistic meeting worker (when people seek to communicate with spirits). "However, as a general rule, mediumship is a loving possibility of spiritual exchange, when well conducted. If badly conducted, it will certainly lead to phenomena that are not pleasant. It is necessary to study, prepare and work in the good", Julis highlights.
On the part of the medium, when in the course of some persistent obsession, some characteristics arise: impossibility of recognising the falsity and lack of meaning in the communications he receives; tendency to turn away from people who can give him useful advice; negative reactions to the criticism of the communications he receives.
On the part of the spirit: the persistence in communicating, whether the medium wants it or not, by writing, by listening, by typtology such as noises, blows, and beatings; any physical constraint, which dominates the medium's will and forces him to act or speak against his own will; persistent disturbances around the medium, of which he is the cause or the object.

Even with so many explanations, doubts still remain, which devastate everyone with the outburst of medianimity over the spirits who accompany them all their lives. Who are they and what do they want?
We can cite examples from pop culture as "Ghostbusters", where we have seen spirits possessing people and occupying places and in "Ghost", when the main character even after death, continues in this plan and tries to communicate with his beloved. There are also very didactic films about mediumship, such as the cinebiographies, "Divaldo - The Messenger of Peace", "Chico's Mothers", "Kardec", the feature "Our Home" and the biography of Chico Xavier. In this text we will meet two characters, who, like the fictitious and real ones mentioned, have supernatural experiences that marked their lives.
Ana (fictitious name), 43 years old, apparently has a normal life. She works as a saleswoman, has a stable relationship, three daughters, however she has an evil that plagues her: She is constantly tormented by spirits. But to understand a little more of her story, we need to go back in time.

1983: "[...] the persistence in communicating, whether the medium wants it or not [...]"
Little Ana lived sick, low immunity, any wind would leave her in bed. At the age of 7 she had already been consulted with several doctors and no one could explain why she was so easily ill, even with so many medicines. Her mother and grandmother had already tried everything that alternative medicine promised to offer. And it was no use.
Because she was a charming child -as many used to say about her beauty-, she was invited to be maid of honor at her aunt's wedding. That day, she wore an emerald blue dress with beautiful embroidery on the bar and snorting sleeves, as was customary at the time. Her hair formed beautiful waves, which glowed on contact with the light. In spite of this, his appearance was downcast, his body had never been so thin and his eyes had lost their brightness, as if life was emptying from his body. The ceremony happened and the little girl fulfilled her role of handing the ring over to the newlyweds. Yet one last task was missing, the photo with the bride and groom.
The photo was taken, and in case you are not part of the Z generation, you know that in the 1980s the photos went to a studio to be developed. When the long-awaited wedding photo album arrived, the whole family got together to check who was presentable in the photos. Amidst the laughter and sighs, a capture shocked everyone. The photo where Ana was, there was one person who was not one of the guests, many less was there, at the time of the party. "The photo that was taken, a face appeared behind me. A face of an old woman".

The mysterious lady had white hair and gray tones, the face with deep expression marks occasioned by time, and had the frown frowned as if angry or disgusted. Bored.
Her mother quickly removed the photo and kept it in her room. Ana never saw that picture again. "That photo, unfortunately, I don't know if it still exists, because my mother doesn't like me touching that subject". Even without talking about it and trying to forget it, this was not the last time that the girl received a visit from that lady.
In the course of her life, she's gone through various experiences like this one. Let's move on.
1996: [...] by writing, by listening, by typtology such as noises, blows, and beatings [...]
Life was quite peaceful in Itumbiara, a city on the border between the state of Goiás and Minas Gerais. Ana, now older, was washing the dinnerware in the external area of her house. As usual, her radinho was tuned to the evangelical station of the region. When one of her favorite praises began to play, she approached the device to increase the volume. It was then that a voice, hoarse and metallic, amid the interference of the waves, uttered words that said - No use dodging, I will always be where you are. At that moment Ana's body stiffened, her lips became dry and her hands softened. Her reaction was to get closer to the radio and pull the plug. At the same instant the voice grunted a sound of revolt and a stench, like that of an animal that had been dead for days, exhaled throughout the environment.
However, she had already been warned. This time the spirit used the radio, but had previously tried to communicate with her by means of other objects. "By the radio I remember, it was the only time. The other times it was in apparitions in photos, even in reflection in the mirror".
In the photos, our main character remembers that they happened at least three times. Something that marks his memory is the image of an old man, with black and deep eyes behind his shoulders.
In the mirror, he reports that one day, while he was getting ready for a walk, he decided to wear some make-up. When she took her products in her hands and turned to look in the mirror, there was the figure of a man behind her. Ana turned quickly to face him, but he was gone. She tells that the figure of the lady, yes, that of years ago, has also manifested itself through the mirror.
Those beings who appear have a very heavy energy. When I feel them, I breathe and my hands sweat. A lot. And I can feel something coming near me. Usually the place in my body where I feel this sensation gets all creepy.
What stays in the air is, is she the only one going through it, or it could be something family. Something that comes from her ancestors. The question arises because her children have also experienced situations like this. Turn the page.
2014 [...] any physical constraint, which dominates the medium's will and forces him to act or speak against his own will [...]
According to Ana's words, the spirits are after her and want to reach everyone around them. In an account, her daughters have also been tormented by figures in photographs and even possessions. Let's go into her memories once again.
Early that night, Gabriela (fictitious name), her middle daughter, arrived home after a walk with her friends. The girl had dark skin, dark hair like that of a squaw, and big black eyes like that of a jabuticaba. Ana noticed that she was different, even her voice sounded strange. Her features also ran away from the usual. Her daughter's colleagues commented to her that Gabriela had been behaving strangely all afternoon.
When she approached her daughter she felt a strong supernatural presence, which could explain that change in behavior. Ana, very religious that she was, started praying immediately. With the fervent prayer, the intruder began to manifest himself by saying a phrase she had heard before: I am in this house and will never leave you. More than quickly, the saleswoman ran quickly to the kitchen and took the salt shaker on the table, went to where her daughter was and threw the salt around her, because, according to her, the product would rebuke the evil spirit.

As the expected result was not achieved, she asked her eldest daughter to come and get help. She knew that she could not do it alone.
She went after her mother-in-law and brought her here quickly. We went to the room with my daughter. She was all crooked and hands like claws of an animal. We made a circle around her and started praying tirelessly.
After two hours of praying, apparently the spirit had been cast out. "We prayed, Our Father, Hail Mary and the creed" . The next day the girl was taken to a spiritist center. Today she is 20 years old and has never had supernatural experiences like this again.
As much as Ana experienced various manifestations during her life, there was an experience that left not only psychological sequels, but also physical scars.
2017: [...] persistent disturbances around the medium, of which he is the cause or object [...]
Within this timeline, what has happened here is stored in the part of the memory that we store the things we would like to forget.
The family ranch is a place Ana has always liked to visit, fresh air and the smell of wet grass. In the morning, as usual, she went to the kitchen which was in an open area outside the house. When she went down the only step that separated her from the ground floor, she felt something pushing too hard.
His body shook from contact with the stone floor. An intoxicating pain took over his face, chest and knees. He felt the taste of the blood coming out of his nose. This was the weekend she was alone at the scene, she called her daughters who promptly went to help her. In this fall, Ana broke her nose, fractured two ribs and gained gross scars on her knees.
And this was not the only time.

Ana slept after lunch on the balcony. Her boyfriend woke her up to have the afternoon coffee together. He ended up going ahead to pack some things that were missing. When Ana went to meet him, she felt a push and fell face down on the floor.
She was taken to hospital by her beloved. When she woke up she felt a burning in her back and asked the nurse to look at them. When she climbed up her blouse, the scare. Her back was marked with deep scratches, as if claws had injured her.
Ana also believes that many spirits are connected to the places she has lived or still lives. Go on.
The house
Built by her 24 years ago, the house where she lives has always maximized the strength of the spirits in the attempt to make contact, at least that is what she claims. "It's usually stronger in my house. My daughter Gabriela says she stopped being tormented when she left here. She saw many figures around the house".
Still talking about her descendants, her grandson, 4 years old, always says he sees a lady in the house, yet no one has ever commented near him about past events. When he goes to other people's houses, for example, his great-grandmother's house, he says that there are no animals in the place, as he usually calls beings seen.

Ana has already sought help from some religious leaders. "I even came to call a pastor here. He anointed the house and said a prayer. He said that I should go to church and that I had a bad spirit with me". However, she was only a few times the evangelical church, as she really liked to attend the Catholic church. "A priest was here once, too. He did purification with holy water. He was from the church I attended".
The year of these visits was 2009. And from what we saw, a lot of things happened after that. This leads us to think that Anne's connection with the spirits is much stronger and according to the following accounts, it may come from long before she was born.
Reasons
Ana links the radio event to the spiritist center that was next to her former mother-in-law's house where she lived for two years, when she experienced many strange things.
I lived two years in Itumbiara, Goiás. However, these things bother me since I was a child, but I learned to deal with them a little. Usually when you have a spiritist center nearby, it really interferes. Interference that I speak, is a kind of spiritist contamination.
For Julis, our specialist, mediumistic communications are possible because of the possibility of the medium, they are not necessarily associated with the proximity of spiritist houses, since spirits are everywhere. "Since the medium has this more ostentatious possibility, what he can do is to educate his mediumship, so as to make him less aware of its effects. The best way to educate oneself is through knowledge", he adds.
The seller has already visited a spiritist centre, but has not felt that it has had any effect upon the spirits. There she was told that she needed to develop a mediumship that is very strong. However, what she did not expect to hear was what might change her entire perception of why she had very strong contact with the spirit world.

According to the leader of the meeting that night, Ana had died, but without making the passage, because she received a new chance to return. It was as if a part of her had stayed on the other side. "Some say there is a world like ours where those who have not found peace, or who did not want to be detached for some reason, stay".
The leader's words made a lot of sense to her, because even without telling them anything, it had really happened.
Something I remember was when I had eclampsia at my daughter's birth. I found myself sitting on the bed, putting my hand on my chest and feeling a very strong pain. There were three people near me who said I couldn't stay there. That I needed to come back. I saw a woman holding my baby. I was trying to hold her, but I couldn't. I remember that it was very distressing.
Ana's mother and grandmother had never told it, because they didn't like to touch on certain subjects.
However, what intrigued her was the fact that the spirits already tormented her long before this. It was when they revealed to her that they had seen the death of a baby. Her as a baby.
With doubt, Ana decided to visit her grandmother, and between one subject and another, she questioned whether something had happened to her at birth. It was then that Maw Maw told her the story that 20 days after her birth, she had died and came back to life.
My great grandmother was an Indian born in a village and she believed in spirits. However, my grandmother didn't like to touch you in those matters. The story of my grandmother and great grandmother is also very long, but at the time she advised me to stay away from those things. However, how will I stop if they keep on pursuing me all the time?
Consequences
Ana says she feels like a hostage. "It's a very bad feeling. Really bad. My daughters only stopped being tormented after they moved. I lost my self-esteem because of the accident, and for those reasons I also lost friendships. They moved away from me".
Our second character is Clara (fictitious name). The 26 year old girl, married and mother of one daughter, as well as Ana, suffers with the storm of spirits since childhood. Chapter two of this story begins here.

2000: [...] impossibility of recognizing the falsehood [...]
It was already late at night when Clara, at the age of seven, slept in the same room as her sister on her bunk bed. In that room she was restless, she couldn't nail her eyes. Between one attempt and another to fall asleep, all useless, she felt like going to the bathroom. The house in Mogi das Cruzes had only three rooms, a bedroom, kitchen and bathroom. The room was divided with a double wardrobe, the mother and stepfather slept on one side, she and her sister on the other. There was a corridor in the middle that led to the bathroom and then came the kitchen that had 4 large glass windows.
As she walked down the corridor back to her room, she heard her mother's voice calling her in the kitchen. It was strange that her mother was still awake, especially in the pitch where the room was. The girl went to the kitchen, thinking she would find her mother, however, as she passed the door, she saw that she was completely alone.

Before she had a chance to leave, she felt a presence near her, and then a chill spread over her whole body. In fear, she felt her muscles stiffen, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't make a sound if she wanted to, much less scream for help. As she was taught, she began to say a prayer in thought, in the midst of the crying, with her voice embargoed, she was able to move her legs to her mother's room. "It was horrible to feel that feeling of being badly accompanied". It was a difficult task to explain what had happened, her mother did not understand what her daughter had said, but she let her sleep there that night.
The disturbances didn't stop there. The spirit tried other times to pass itself off as someone the victim loved.
2012: [...] and lack of meaning in the communications he receives [...]
When she lived at her mother-in-law's house, her husband left religiously at 6 a.m. to work. On some day she woke up with him calling her. Clara, without getting out of bed, looked away and saw someone, but couldn't see her face, only the eyes involved in the covers speaking her name slowly.
She thought it was her husband's joke and asked if he hadn't gone to work - Didn't he go to work today? Her sister-in-law, who heard the question, as she thought it was directed at her, went to her room and said that her brother had gone to work. Clara confused, looked away again and saw that she was alone in bed. What was it that stood next to her, speaking her name? "I ran out of my room, dying of fear.
Who would this spirit be and why does he try to pass himself off as people close to Clara?
At home, at bedtime
Clara tells us that the moment she feels the presence of something stronger is during the night. "When I lie down to sleep, I feel there's someone on my side talking to me, but I can't see her face". She says she hears him close to her ears, a deep, calm voice from someone very old, and it's as if he's lying next to her, so close, you could hear him breathing if he were a person. "Those very days I even had the impression that someone was lying with me. I felt as if he was breathing hard next to me and I couldn't move. Then I started to cry".
The young owner of two cats, believes that cats can feel the presence and see the spirit. Sometimes she catches them looking as if they are seeing someone, and they even follow something that only they can see.

Telemarketing is too closed to look for help, be it from friends, relatives or spiritual. From her family, the only person who knows what she has been through is her husband. "I tell only my husband. I once spoke to my sister, but it was a long time ago. We were little and she said I should pray. My husband believes it. I always ask him to pray with me when that happens".
As much as religion was very present in her upbringing, today she does not attend churches and has never sought, based on religion, the solution to her problem.
I used to go to evangelical churches sometimes, but there's a time that I don't go, I went more when I was little. I never thought about looking for a spiritist center and I never told anyone about the church either. At no time did I think it was necessary. A neighbor once gave me a bottle of anointed oil and asked me to go to church, but I have almost no time, I work all week.
Consequences
Because of the various invasions of the spirit into her intimacy, Clara does not like to be alone at home, as she feels she is accompanied by an unwanted visit. When she lived in Mauá, São Paulo, a neighbor told her that she had seen someone in black going up to her house and said that she didn't hear the noise of the gate when the figure entered.
I have a hard time sleeping, it's already happened I'm sleeping and listening to a lot of people talking, but I can't open my eye or turn around, when it happens I get stuck without being able to move or talk. I have too many dark circles because I don't sleep well.
Julius points out that mediumship requires study and knowledge of the phenomenon to be well accommodated. The end of mediumistic possibility is to understand about true life on the spiritual plane. The more you advance and deepen your studies and engage in the practice of good, the greater the understanding, the better the mastery to the point that sensations do not torment but help people's development.
The world of spirits of both incarnate (living) and disembodied (dead) are full of misunderstood and unexplored situations, many of which are considered unlikely to be real because they escape what is naturally scientifically proven. In this way they divide opinions and create social stigmas on the subject. The way to get rid of the knots of ignorance about the existence of spirits is to plunge deep into the studies divulged in search of a private interpretation to draw one's own conclusions.
